Join Reach Your Summit for our annual 2 Day/1 Night one-of-a-kind backpacking adventure to celebrate National Trails Day/CT Trails Weekend! This is our 9th year celebrating with a backpacking trip after being the first in the country to offer this activity option back in 2017. This year will bring us along part of the Appalachian Trail for a easy/moderate 11.4 mile loop. It will offer a deeper connection to ourselves, nature, each other and the communities through which we travel. Highlights include: dense forests, water views, a unique camp, stunning overlooks, history, and more. For a look at the elevation profile for this trip click here.

This trip will include educational segments on skills, but our primary objective will be an exciting adventure. It is open to all though you will most likely find it suitable if you are:

– Beginner backpacker who has a high level of fitness

– Intermediate backpacker who wants to improve skills and modernize gear

– Advanced backpacker wanting to hone in on specifics and have an adventure in the mountains

Other considerations for this trip:

– You should enjoy hiking at a relatively fast pace and enjoy more time on the trail than at camp

– You look forward to climbing and descending peaks, passes and ridgelines

– You are comfortable carrying a 20+ lb pack for 6.5 miles a day

Group size is 6. RSVP is required. Registration closes on May 9, 2026. Waiver/Assumption of Risk documents are required before participation and can be signed electronically or in person the day of this trip. This event will be held rain or shine.

This backpacking adventure trip starts from the moment we both confirm the trip is suitable for the individual and the payment has been submitted to reserve your spot. These trips are opened up to 5 individuals in order to provide personal instruction, guidance and a more enhanced experience rather than feeling like you are part of a big group tour or missing out on key trip opportunities. It also helps us lower our impact on the areas we travel through. Each Adventure trip includes video calls where you can virtually meet your guide/instructor and learn how you can get the most out of the trip. You will also get to meet with your guide/instructor for another video call to discuss gear selection and guidance with planning for the trip.

Safety and enjoyment are always some of Reach Your Summit’s top priorities. During our trips, groups stick together and look after each other.
