Join a guided tour with Michael Wojtech, naturalist and author of Bark: A Field Guide to Trees of the Northeast, and delve into the fascinating world of trees at the Granby Land Trust’s beautiful Dismal Brook Wildlife Preserve. Michael will show you how to view trees in ways you may not have before. Together, we’ll explore how trees grow, reproduce, and interact with their surroundings across days, weeks, seasons, and years. We’ll look at everything from the fine details of bark, buds, flowers, and leaves—key for identifying species—to the ecological adaptations that allow them to thrive.
