Annual Open House and self-guided Walk the Locks in celebration of National Trails Day. Start at restored Lock Keeper’s House at Lock 14 in Hamden, where you can pick up a trail map, trail mix, and a drink and view an exhibit of the former canal and railroad.  Then optionally walk north 3 miles to the restored lock in Cheshire.  Round-trip distance is 6 miles. Indoor bathroom and air-conditioning are available at Lock 14.
