Moderately fast paced hike on rolling terrain. Hike includes a newly constructed major relocation of the Tunxis Mainline Trail. The trail crosses several ravines, passes through white pine groves and mountain laurel, and goes by stone walls and charcoal mounds. Bring water, insect repellent, lunch, and snacks. Hiking boots or hiking shoes are recommended.

Meet at the parking lot for Cadence Academy Preschool on Rte 4 in Burlington, west of Rte 69. Park at the west side of the parking lot. There is a car spot to the beginning of the hike on Johnnycake Mountain.
