01:00 pm

3.7 miles (shorter route is offered too)

20 Open Spots

Embark on an inclusive hiking adventure, designed to make trails accessible for everyone. This hike will be on intermediate terrain in Penwood State Park. We will have options to modify the hike for varying abilities.
Adaptive equipment will be available to assist those that need it including adaptive all-terrain hiking chairs, poles, and more. Our volunteers are trained with knowledge of disabilities and the equipment (if needed) that we have to support our participants.

Our goal is always to foster as much independence as possible while teaching about the environment and safety while hiking. This hike will bring together adaptive hikers, volunteers and family members. It is important for adaptive hikers who are not ambulatory to register early as we have limited equipment available.

Meeting Location Details

We will meet in the picnic area which is about a half-mile drive or walk on the newer paved road from the upper lot.
Please look for Summit Adaptive flags. If the picnic area parking fills, you can drive down to drop off hikers, but will need to park in the upper lot. Facilities at the picnic area include accessible restrooms and picnic tables. However, the picnic shelter is reserved for a private event at 1 p.m.
