Summer is in bloom!

Join CFPA’s Education Assistant, Julia Sonen, on a relaxed hike to explore the colorful life of Field Forest in Durham. From bright flowers to lush growth, insects and amphibians, expect to marvel at living things you might otherwise pass by.

We will pass through towering tulip, oak, and beech trees, by a vernal pool brimming with aquatic and amphibian life, and over babbling streams. The rolling hills of Field Forest are often filled with birds, and while many of the spring ephemerals have passed, we may catch glimpses of their fruit.

This is an afternoon hike, so make sure to bring plenty of water and sun protection as well as sturdy shoes. The trail has roots, rocks, and a few short, steep sections, and we will not leave anyone behind.
