Hike to the Top of the Rock! Sweetcake Mountain Preserve is an incredibly beautiful property that is comprised of open deciduous forest, dense mountain laurel under story which will probably be in bloom, hemlock stands and rock outcroppings. From the top, Sweetcake Mountain Preserve offers spectacular views of Candlewood Lake. This property was donated by the Fox family to the Candlewood Valley Regional Land Trust to preserve the land in its natural state in perpetuity. Join us for a short hike with some steep climbs to the amazing look out point.
