This is an out-and-back hike (staying on the same trails) to Roaring Brook Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in CT. The trail is mostly uphill as we head out, and therefore mostly downhill on the way back. Proper hiking footwear with good traction is mandatory. Hiking poles are strongly recommended. No dogs or children under 18. Each hiker must carry at least 32 oz. of water, as well as a snack, sunscreen, insect repellent, personal medications and first-aid supplies. Park at 933-899 Roaring Brook Road in Cheshire, being sure to not block access to mailboxes or to driveways. Meet at the trailhead at the cul-de-sac of this road. Meet at 9:00 for a prompt 9:15 start. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours in advance, so that someone else could attend.
