Old Barry Farm is part of the Town of Waterford’s trail system connecting Conover and Woodlands Nature Preserves managed by the Waterford Land Trust. The trails runs past Miller’s Pond, stone walls, old foundations and an abandoned quarry. Pilgrim Road, which once provided farms with a route to New London, now provides access to forests that have grown on abandoned pastures. Botanist Jim Luce will focus on sharing shortcuts to identifying plants. Early spring is a great time to find salamanders, frogs, turtles, turkeys and other birds.
