Go beach to beach on a Fun Walk along Long Island Sound- discover habitats, inhabitants, birding locations, viewing platforms, a purple martin enclave, and other special features of this waterfront Gateway park. Other points of park interest include Connecticut’s 9/11 Memorial, model aircraft Airport, Trail heads, wetlands, and a pine forest.

Meeting Location Details

Sherwood Island State Park, exit 18 off of I-95. From the end of either north or south exit, turn toward Long Island Sound, go down a short hill and go through the entrance at the Park’s welcome booths. You will not have to pay to enter the Park or join the walk. Follow the signs to East Beach and the Nature Center. The framed, one-story Nature Center sits on a hillock near the east end of the park. There are parking lots in front of and by the side of the Nature Center. Meet on the large front porch of the Nature Center.
