Join us for a leisurely nature hike on Mohegan Park trails. We’ll follow the Blue and Green Trails around the Lower Pond, and then take the Red Connector trail to finish our hike on the paved Spaulding Pond Loop. This route has well-defined forest trails and easy paved paths. We’ll take our time to look and listen for birds and wildlife, and learn about native and invasive plants along the way.
Note: There’s one moderately steep downhill section on the Blue Trail that may be challenging for people with mobility concerns, otherwise it’s an easy ~2-mile hike.
Don’t forget to dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray.
Binoculars and apps like Merlin, Seek, iNaturalist, or PictureThis will be helpful, but not required.
Sorry, no dogs permitted at the park or on the hike, but sharing dog/cat tax pictures are highly appreciated!
