Open Event
Come and see the fabulous views from historic Heublein Tower. This event will include a moderately difficult loop hike on the Metacomet Trail and the Talcott Mountain Bypass Trail, up to the tower on Talcott Mountain, then back down to our starting point. There will be time at the top to take in the informational video, explore the renovated tower (which used to be a home), and enjoy the great views from the observation deck at the top of the tower. Wear sturdy hiking or walking shoes, bring water and snacks. There are primitive bathroom facilities at both the parking lot and the tower. This hike can also be a birding opportunity, as the leader is a birdwatcher – bring binoculars if you’d like!
