Join representatives from the Connecticut Forest & Park Association and the Middlesex Land Trust on this short but steep out-and-back hike on the New England National Scenic Trail in Middlefield. We’ll climb to beautiful cliffside views from the rocky ridge above Black Pond. Along the way, we’ll showcase one of the Middlesex Land Trust’s newest preserves and discuss our efforts to protect access to trails and preserve open space. While the hike is relatively short, it is a steep and rocky climb to the cliffs, which feature a sheer drop. Well-behaved dogs are allowed but they must remain leashed at all times.
The event will run as scheduled in the event of light rain but heavy rain cancels.
