Open Event
Join for an exciting hike that will explore the Salem Land Trust’s newest preserve, the Stahlschimdt Preserve – nearly 50 acres of woodlands and wetlands. Learn about the forested landscape of New England and how this preserve plays a key role in the watersheds of Niantic Bay and Long Island Sound. We will traverse two miles and also have fun with a few nature games along the way. Note that an “easy hike” is not the same as an “easy walk” – while there will be minor elevation change during the hike, there will be roots and rocky terrain to pass through in our time in the woods, so boots and long pants are encouraged. Only heavy rain or thunder/lightning cancels.
