In 1993, CT Forest and Park launched the first CT Trails Day to help spread the love of the outdoors to every corner of Connecticut.
On CT Trails Day, join us to celebrate Warren Land Trust’s newest acquisition: the Mountain Lake Preserve. This splendid parcel is the former site of a beloved summer camp which boasts beautiful views, spectacular rock formations and picturesque ponds and streams.
Treks will be offered for all ages and abilities; participants will have a choice of two guided hikes.
The first option will be an out-and-back to the amphitheater, coupled with an out-and-back to Strait’s Pond, for a total of 1 ¾ miles.
The second offering, including a steeper climb and more challenging terrain, will pass the amphitheater and continue on through scenic woodlands with mountain laurel stands and an impressive glacial erratic. This excursion will end at the Strait’s Pond out-and-back path for a total of 2 ¼ miles.

Be sure to bring your water bottle and appropriate hiking shoes. We will provide the scenery and the trail mix cookies!
