This relaxing walk reveals a changing landscape in Woodbridge. Roger Sherman was the owner of a historic 18th century colonial farm that was later transformed into a competitive golf course in the mid 20th century. The property has since been abandoned and allowed to revert to nature.
The 150-acre property is characterized as an early successional habitat featuring many mature trees and a pond. The ecosystem provides a unique nesting and foraging habitat for migratory and native birds. Several key species of migratory birds rely on our regional forests and open spaces.
Join the Town of Woodbridge’s conservation groups and recreation department for an educational field trip to connect with the outdoors through passive recreation while exploring nature, ecology, and conservation management.
