Features of the Park are highlighted as we move from the Nature Center past the only model plane airport on park Land. Learn about one of Ct largest tidal salt marshes, the environmental rejuvenation of a parking lot, the designation of a waterfront pine forest, sitings of some of the many creatures and specimen trees. The Mill Pond and its over a century old advanced Tidal MILL. then return to the Point ( only spot in CT to witness 911) and the Memorial . Walking is 1/2 paved and 1/2 fairly level grass surfaces. Good Shoes, Hats, Phone and Water recommended. We start at the Nature Center and end at the Pavilion ( Bathrooms available). Whether you have never been to Sherwood or are a frequent visitor there is more than you know!

Park Gate entrance – ask for Nature Center Directions and head toward the Sound – Drive around the circle to the LEFT the East Beach Parking : Follow Road along shore to Nature Center lot. Nature Center is on rise between Shore and Salt marsh. paved access road or walk up the hill – Gathering on the Porch.
