We will do a quick intro and orientation at the Nature Center, then walk then across the property to some History Marker sites. There will be a short explanation of the Geological formation of the Island and a pause to review some of the activities and uses the Island over the years. It has been used for Native crops and fishing, Granary and Farming, Mill work, Barrel Building and development plans. The Park was the first land acquired for Public Park use but the battle to open was decades long …..Lots to discover and many innovations, local and State issues that saved the park for the People of Connecticut.
