Celebrate Connecticut Trails Day 2026 with a scenic community hike at Matthies Park, one of Beacon Falls’ most peaceful natural gems. This family‑friendly walk circles the park’s beautiful lake, offering constant water views, gentle terrain, and a look at the park’s signature feature – the small island at the lake’s center.
The route follows the Matthies Lake Loop, an easy 1‑mile shoreline trail perfect for all ages and experience levels. Along the way, participants will enjoy shaded forest paths, wildlife viewing opportunities, and several great photo spots overlooking the lake and island.
This event is designed for walkers, families, kids, and anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxed outdoor experience with their community. Leashed dogs are welcome.
