Enjoy a walk around the Beaver Pond trail at the scenic 388-acre Colebrook River Lake property owned and maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The area encompasses plants of woodlands, wet meadows, ponds and pond edges, plus remnants of roads and properties that were there before the reservoir was built.

Directions: From Rt. 44 in Winsted by Northwest CT Community College, turn north and go 5.5 miles on Rt. 8 (Colebrook River Road).

Turn right at entrance to US Army Corps (gate will be open) and drive a short distance to the Administration Building on the left and park in its parking lot. Note: the boat launch area for the reservoir is farther up on Rt. 8 and is NOT where we will meet.
