20 Open Spots
Join BLT Director, Karen Geitz and Dave Zaharchuk, to explore the beautiful 300 acre Taine Mountain Preserve on a 3 mile double loop hike. Participants will follow the Blue/Red Trail to Perry’s Lookout, which has a wonderful view of Burlington to the south and west. The hikers will walk on a variety of Tunxis side trails through different types of forest. Walkers may see flowering mountain laurel, blooming lady slippers and even some action in a couple of vernal pools. The group will also learn about the three landowners that had the vision to preserve this magical spot. There are rolling hills and two steep inclines and declines as the walk goes up and down Taine Mountain.
