Whether it is our favorite park, conserved land, backyard, or urban forest – Connecticut loves the woods! If we want our favorite wooded spots to be around for future generations, we must ensure that they are healthy and resilient. On this woods walk with the DEEP Forestry Division, you will learn the four steps in the pathway to achieving forest health. As we visit a number of managed sites within the James L. Goodwin State Forest, you will observe ways that you can assess the health of your favorite woodland, and help improve forest health, for now and for the future.
