Once a major manufacturing center for the town of Haddam, the Pine Brook Preserve holds the stone ruins of two dams, now dripping in ferns and moss along glittering Pine Brook. We will walk about a half mile out and back; there are a few muddy rises. Shoes that can handle getting wet are suggested.

Pine Brook Rd., Haddam, CT

Coming from Route 151, follow Pine Brook Road (dirt road along the brook and across from the preserve) to the dirt lot at the end. Cross the small foot bridge to the preserve to meet before the hike.
