Northern West Rock Ridge State Park. We will ascend York Mountain at 680 feet from the east with southward views and High Rock at 650 feet with westward views, on the Quinnipiac Trail. The Quinnipiac Trail is the oldest Blue-blazed Trail, adopted by the CPFA Trails Committee in 1929. We will descend and follow Brooks Rd. to
the Sanford Feeder trail. From the Sanford Feeder, we will follow the abandoned West Rock Ridge road south. The road crosses the Regicides trail, which we will follow north with views to the west and then east. We will do a strenuous ascent of York Mountain, this time from the south, and return to Paradise Ave. Approximately 800’ cumulative elevation gain. Dogs okay. Heavy rain cancels.

Park at end of Paradise Ave. extension at 9:15 for 9:30 a.m. start. In Hamden, take Shepard Ave. to West Shepard Ave., right onto Laura Rd., and then first right onto Paradise Ave. extension (no sign). Parking at cul-de-sac. Do not enter Paradise Ave. into Google maps, as there are three separate sections of Paradise Ave., and program will likely take you to wrong section.
