Join wildlife biologist Peter Picone and learn about local wildlife and natural habitats along the Quinnipiac River in the Hanover Pond area. Mr. Picone will point out interesting plants and animals while leisurely strolling the walking trail along the Quinnipiac River. Come learn about river floodplain plants like American Elm, Sycamore, Silver Maple, Red Maple, Spicebush, Witch hazel , trout lily, skunk cabbage, false hellebore and many, many more. Also, catch glimpses of local songbirds such as the American goldfinch, mallards, great blue herons and possibly birds of prey such as the red-shouldered hawk or even a bald eagle.
