On a tour of the Norwich Rose Garden, Dave Candler will explain the different varieties of roses, give a brief history of the Norwich Rose Garden, and reveal why Norwich is called “The Rose of New England.”
This tour is sponsored by the Norwich Historical Society. Dave Candler is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and after serving 25 years as a Navy submariner and in several other positions, worked as a Business Manager with AT&T. He is a past Connecticut Rose Society President, a Master Rosarian and Horticulture Rose Judge, a recipient of the Connecticut Bronze Honor Medal and Yankee District Outstanding Consulting Rosarian, and of the Outstanding Judge and Silver Honor Medal. Dave has lived in the Norwich, Connecticut area for the past 42 years.
