Open Event
Enjoy a hike through a Woodbridge Land Trust property with deep historical roots described in detail in Ezra Stiles book published in 1794. The property named The Lodge was used by the Regicide Judges, Goffe and Whalley, in 1661, to avoid capture by the British agents loyal to King Charles I. The Lodge, also named Hatchet Harbor, once contained a crude shelter built by Goffe, and his father-in law, Whalley. One of the largest glacial erratics in CT will be observed on the walk.
