Meeting Location Details

This event will begin at the Quinnipiac River Southington canoe launch. The launch is located off Route 322 in Southington. It is adjacent to the parking lots where Route 322 meets Honey Road. There will be DEEP staff standing at the launch entrance. Since the trail goes downriver, participants will unload their equipment at the launch then drive to the takeout point to park their vehicles. The takeout point is located at the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association canoe launch located at 540 Oregon Rd, Meriden, CT. DEEP staff will provide a shuttle from this location back to the starting point. Some DEEP staff will also remain with the equipment that is dropped off while participants park their vehicles. Once back at the starting point, participants will paddle downriver with Emily and other DEEP staff to the takeout point. The paddle should take roughly 2 hours.
