Sandy Point Nature Walk

Nature Walk

Sun. Jun 5

07:00 pm

08:00 pm

1 mile

Join us for a sunset walk at one of the most beautiful spots along the Connecticut shoreline. A long spit of sandy beach extending into New Haven Harbor, Sandy Point is not only a great place to watch birds, but also a popular spot for mating horseshoe crabs in the late spring. On this fun, leisurely one-mile walk we will take in spectacular views of the New Haven skyline, East Rock, Sleeping Giant, and other local landmarks, as well as learn about interesting critters from local experts. We’ll also learn about the human history of New Haven Harbor and its historic lighthouses, as well as environmental challenges facing Long Island Sound and efforts to enhance climate resilience along the CT shoreline.
