Open Event

Northern West Rock Ridge State Park, ca. 800′ cumulative elevation gain, with breaks at two look-outs (westward and eastward). The Quinnipiac Trail is the oldest Blue-blazed Trail, adopted by the CPFA Trails Committee in 1929. From the Paradise Ave. trailhead, we will ascend York Mountain at 680′ from the east with southward views and continue on the Quinnipiac Trail along High Rock ridge with westward views and break. We will descend and proceed at a lower elevation through tall pine forest to the Sanford Feeder trail. From the top of the Sanford Feeder, we will follow abandoned West Rock Ridge road south. The road crosses the Regicides trail, which we will follow north with views to the west and then east (break). We will do another ascent of York Mountain (short but steep), this time from the south, and return to starting point. Bring at least one quart of water, and snacks or light lunch.
