Join The Last Green Valley (TLGV) to learn about the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as we admire its legacy in CT’s largest state forest – 2022 being the 89th Anniversary of its founding. We will start in Chapman Field/the CCC Youth Area (close to the main entrance of the forest off Rt. 49 in Voluntown) and see a few sights before hopping back in our cars to go further up the forest road to walk around and see some more. The walk will total about 3 miles along gravel roads in the heart of the forest. For those with mobility challenges, it is possible to follow along with the group in a car for the duration of the trip (or as much as you need). Email ksgregoire@gmail.com with questions.
