Enjoy a guided hike with naturalists between Burlington and Bristol. The hike is 4.2 miles in and out from Sessions Woods to the Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center and back. Hikers can arrange carpools to do a 2.1-mile hike (see directions below). Hikers will explore exhibits at the BNC and visit live animals. This hike has two moderately steep hills and descents with marshy areas along the brook. At the end of the hike, you have the option of carpooling back to the start or hike back with guides.

Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area by the flagpole. Address: 341 Milford St. (Route 69), Burlington, CT

Carpool Arrangements:

For a 2.1-mile hike, bring two cars to the HC Barnes Nature Center at 175 Shrub Rd, Bristol, CT GPS Coordinates: 41.7141° N, 72.9392° W. Leave one car here and all participants pile into the other car and drive to Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area to start the hike. Arrange your time so that you arrive at Sessions Woods at 1:00. It’s about a ten minute ride. After the hike, carpoolers get into their car at the Harry C. Barnes Nature Center and drive to Sessions Woods to retrieve their car.
