This hike has some steep climbs and will traverse field and forest, offering views from Prospect Mountain’s summit. Plan to look and listen for birds along the way and feel free to ask questions about birds, the forest tree species, or the mining history of Prospect Mountain.
Meeting Location Details
309 Prospect Mountain Rd, Litchfield CT
Prospect Mountain Preserve – Pepper Spur Trailhead parking lot on the east side of Prospect Mountain Rd. This is the northern most trail head located on Prospect Mountain Rd. It is less than a half mile south of Litwin Rd.
There is plenty of parking although carpooling is always a nice idea.
