Open Event
Join us for a leisurely paced nature walk along the edge of a farm field, up a moderate hill, over uneven terrain and into a well-wooded area that surrounds the beautiful and culturally significant waterfalls. We will enjoy the natural beauty at the edge of the falls and learn about the historical and modern day importance of this site.
The guided hike will be co-led by the Woodbury Conservation Commission and the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition. Participants will learn about the role the Pomperaug River has in supplying a portion of the community with their drinking water as well as supporting the downstream flows.
Participants should bring water, snack, wear sturdy shoes, be prepared for nuisance bugs and be aware of slippery surfaces and steep slopes near the falls.
