Open Event

Great hike with a long bridge, rock work, waterfall/cascade, gnomes, a turkey, and a place called Devil’s Kitchen! We will meet at Sessions Woods in Burlington and head north on the CFPA Tunxis Blue/Yellow trail. After crossing route 69 we will cross a bridge built last year over Whigville Brook. Continuing north we will turn right on the Tunxis Blue/Orange trail that goes through Devil’s Kitchen. Everyone can look for a couple of gnomes and a turkey on the side of the trail near the top of the waterfall/cascade. We then loop back around on the Blue/Yellow trail and back to Sessions Woods. There is some vertical (around 600 vertical per AllTrails) on this hike but not severe. Plan on around a 1.5 mile/hour hiking rate. We will stop occasionally for food, drinks, and clothing adjustment – and for personal needs too. Bring a snack and water.

Your hike leaders are the CFPA trail manager volunteers for this section of trail. We will be pointing out work done on the trail and current issues.
